Bakeshop

I think this is the review for bakeshop from Dana: roadster. the new ice cream version of king of pops?? i had this pistachio treat at lunch at BAKESHOP. was good and bakeshop is pretty good too. great to pop in for a sandwich, quiche, soup, coffee, treat... pretty good and cool setting. can be tricky to get parking when it's busy. (scoutmob)

Ale Yeah! combined with Isabella's cafe

Review from Dana: growler from ALE YEAH! in decatur. very delicious and economical and enviornmentally friendly. i also purchased some "dirty nekkid man" coffee there that was used for the latest sweetwater dank tank: mean joe bean and is roasted locally by the folks from java vino. it's delicious, shade grown and locally roasted. just can't beat that. that's all with my leftovers from ISABELLA'S CAFE. went there with a scoutmob. that place was delicious. i had the turkey meatloaf and mac n cheese. just really good food from a woman that quit the rat race to start up a restaurant; glad she did. highly recommended.

Homegrown

Review from Dana: kevin's breakfast from HOMEGROWN. definitely a place to go. everything there is good! but kevin's breakfast may become my new staple. the cheese grits are amazing and topped with chili and eggs any way is awesome and a delicious biscuit (or toast, but i recommend the biscuit) on the side is heaven. cheap and delicious, but one of those breakfast/lunch only places. i've always had good service there. oh, and once i saw kevin gillespie there on a sunday morning which means it really is good. perfect for weekend brekfast. highly recommended.

GRINDHOUSE KILLER BURGERS

I missed going here with bookclub, so here is Dana's review:
here are cheesy poof appetizers from GRINDHOUSE KILLER BURGERS. they were good, as was my hillbilly burger. good selection of beers and "boozy milkshakes". at our table the cherry springer won best of show. definitely worth a visit. i had the beef burger although you can also have turkey or veggie

Pizzeria Venti

So, we checked this place out because 1) Marty had reviews on a certain item - more later 2) they have a "family special".  On Monday and Wednesday 4 people can eat for 20 bucks - you get 4 drinks, a pizza, and unlimited salad.  We also wanted to try their bocce balls (Marty's rec) and their garlic bread with pep in the inside?

First, strange plates.  Second, the salad was good.  We couldnt identify the dressing.

Yum, these are called bocce balls.  You get them in an order of 3 (in the background are the pep sticks). Both good.  The bolini are breadsticks stuffed with pep and cheese yum.   Bocce balls are meatballs and cheese wrapped in crust.  What?

The pizza was good.  you know they made it there, but I wasnt tooo impressed.  More impressed by the other stuff.  Ha.  I liked it, good price.  Probably wont go back too often.  Too many other places that are closer.

Braves BBQ

This is a silly review.  We got to sit in the Golden Moon Casino level, which means you get a 10 dollar meal ticket.  You also get much better food options than in the "normal" areas.  We settled on the BBQ option.  9 dollars for a sandwhich with a meat of your choice and 2 sides.  Good price, oh, free.  Here is what I got, chicken, mac and cheese, and coleslaw.  Yum.  Not the best BBQ, but for in a baseball stadium.  Yum.

Sweet Melissa's

I think I heard about this place when I first moved to ATL as a good place to go for brunch.  I never made it over.  Arianne and I were able to head over during a conference in Decatur.  Since it was lunch time, we both bot lunch items.  I was not starving since I had been snacking at the conference.  I got the chicken salad, or was it turkey salad, sandwich.  I really liked it, ended up just eating and not the bread.  Ha.
Arianne got the Ruben and also really liked it.  I would be interested in going back for brunch.  We sat outside, perfect weather.  Lots of activity going on outside.  Service was interesting.  They have the "everyone is your server" idea, which sometimes I think means you get forgotten.
